We already knew the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S would get 300+ miles of range and deliver more than 600 horsepower. But now that the all-electric midsize SUV has been revealed, we have more details – including pricing and when we’ll see it on sale. We also know it’s a 2024 model, not a 2025 as we previously assumed.

So, let’s dig into the deets.

2024 Jeep Wagoneer S spec highlights

As we mentioned in a previous article, the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S will have an estimated range of 300 miles (which means it will probably be slightly higher). This is significant because the vehicle will be standard with all-wheel drive. We also already knew it would deliver 600 horsepower and a 0-to-60-mph time of 3.4 seconds.

What we didn’t know is that it would essentially be the same size as the gas-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee. In fact, it’s only an inch shorter. The primary dimensions are as follows:

  • Wheelbase: 113.0 inches
  • Length: 192.4 inches
  • Width (at mirrors): 83.6 inches
  • Height (at roof rails): 64.8 inches
  • Ground clearance: 6.4 inches
  • Cargo volume (behind first, second rows): 61.0 cubic feet, 30.6 cubic feet.

We also know it will get a tiny frunk with 3.0 cubic feet of cargo volume, and it will have a max towing capacity of 3,400 pound and a max payload of 1,033.

Though the Wagoneer S is essentially the same size as the Grand Cherokee, it will only have two rows and seat five. We anticipate this is due to payload capacities and the overall heaviness of the battery.

Cool features come standard on Launch Edition

The first model available for the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S is the Launch Edition, and it essentially includes everything you could possible want as standard fare. In fact, looking at the feature availability, there are just two extra-cost options: the Radar Red interior and the Trailer Tow Group. Of course, we don’t have pricing on those two items, but when you consider the laundry list of what’s standard, it probably doesn’t matter that much.

So, what’s included? On the exterior, you’re looking at LED lighting with a unique cast-lighting signature flowing through the “grille.” You’ll also see premium features such as a power hands-free liftgate, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, 10-inch head-up display, 10.25-inch passenger screen, 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, customizable ambient lighting, heated-and-ventilated first- and second-row seats and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen.

The Launch Edition will also get the premium McIntosh sound system we’ve seen on other Jeep vehicles. This is a custom-tuned system with 19 speakers, a 1,2000-watt amplifier and a 12-inch subwoofer. Though I’m not an audiophile, my husband is, and when he’s experienced this system in other vehicles, he’s said it’s the best in-vehicle sound system he’s ever heard.

In addition to all that, the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S is chockfull of standard safety tech such as a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and autonomous parking assist. This midsize EV SUV will also get Active Driving Assist, which is the Stellantis version of hands-free driving on highways.

Pricing and availability

The 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S is the first global all-electric vehicle for the Jeep brand, and it will hit dealers in the fall of 2024. The starting price, including destination will be $71,995.

If you think that price is a bit steep, you’d be correct if you look at what’s currently available. Then again, there aren’t a lot of midsize, two-row electric SUVs currently available for comparison.

The Chevrolet Blazer EV and Honda Prologue, which are similarly sized, start around $50k. Granted, neither of these vehicles are pushing into the near luxury zone. However, when you look at the Acura ZDX, which is near luxury, the Wagoneer S pricing makes more sense. ZDX pricing ranges from about $66k to $75k.

The bottom line

The folks at Stellantis, which is the parent company for the Jeep brand, are late to the EV party, which means it has had plenty of time to listen to the EV complaints and work out some bugs. An AWD SUV with 300+ miles of range sounds really, really good on paper, so we’re hoping the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S delivers on its promise.

If it does, Jeep – and therefore Stellantis – has the potential to kick some EV butt.
