Trying to figure out the differences between the 2025 Ram Rebel vs. Ram RHO can be tough. They both are made for off-road usage and it isn’t immediately clear why you’d pick one over the other besides looks.

However, there are some clear differences in terms of features and equipment.

New for the 2025 Ram 1500 is the RHO with its TRX-like styling and a new engine. The Ram Rebel has also been updated with a new engine. That’s not all.

2025 Ram Rebel vs. Ram RHO

Before we get into the differences this question hit me after spending a week driving the 2025 Ram 1500 Rebel. Why would it hit me? I also have a 2025 Ram 1500 RHO on order for this channel.

I kept going back and forth, wondering if I made the right buying decision and really what the differences between the trucks were.

Both trucks come only in crew cab, 5-foot, 7-inch bed length and 4WD only.

First, the Ram Rebel. The highlights for this truck are:

  • 33-inch tires
  • 1-inch lift plus an undisclosed amount of suspension lift
  • Standard-output Hurricane engine producing 420 horsepower and 469 pound-feet of torque
  • 11,140 pounds max towing
  • Starting price: $66,435 (with $1,995 destination fee)

There are also a myriad of packages, like the new Rebel X, and options you can add like a 4-corner air suspension system.

The Ram RHO might have the DNA of a Ram 1500, it also gets a big change for the exterior styling. (Photo courtesy Ram Trucks)

For the RHO, the highlights include:

  • 35-inch tires
  • 2-inch lift
  • High-output Hurricane engine producing 540 horsepower and 521 pound-feet of torque
  • 8,380 pounds max towing
  • Starting price: $71,990 (with $1,995 destination fee)

There is only one package to option up to for the RHO, and you can’t get air suspension.

Basically, I concluded the Rebel can tow more, has more options like air suspension and comes with the lesser of the two engines.

The RHO has the great TRX-like looks and a high-output engine, yet it can’t tow as much as the Rebel.

Another way to think about it is the Rebel is probably the better all-around off-road truck meanwhile the RHO is really for much faster desert driving.

The bottom line

While I don’t live in a desert, I do like to go fast on dirt roads. So, looking at the Ram Rebel vs. Ram RHO, the RHO is the choice for me — even if I’m giving up some of the towing capacity. I’ll take the extra engine performance!
