2026 Genesis GV70 gets a refresh, 4 things to know

Genesis has been experiencing a meteoric rise, which is hard to do for a new brand. But there appears to be a market for elegant design and well-packaged vehicles. The 2026 Genesis GV70 and Electrified GV70 get some design tweaks and new tech, which continue to help elevate not only this specific vehicle but also the brand as a whole.

While we don’t have too many specifics just yet, here’s what we do know.

Refined grille design

Since the GV70 was introduced as a 2021 model, it’s only three years into its lifecycle and still in its first generation. So, there are no radical changes here, but there is a nice design evolution with crisper lines and more elegant finishes. The grille and front fascia get the biggest changes with a bolder skid plate design and extended air intake. The Electrified GV70 front end gets refreshed as well, and the charge port, hidden in the grille, is redesigned for easier access.

The taillights are redesigned to better match the two-line concept on the headlights. You’ll also see some new interior and exterior color choices (which were introduced on the GV80 Coupe), and some new wheel designs.

Infotainment, tech upgrades

The cockpit design follows the refresh we saw with the GV80 and GV80 Coupe, and it has cleaner horizontal lines and that 27-inch OLED display that stretches from gauge cluster to infotainment screen. The 2026 Genesis GV70 will also get improved over-the-air (OTA) update capabilities, as well as Digital Key access and passive entry access through the second row.

While we’re on the topic of tech, the GV70 will add steering-wheel hands-on detection, improved lane follow assist functionality and upgraded remote smart park assist (aka “Smaht Pahk”) with diagonal parking capabilities.

2026 Genesis GV70 EV standard with NACS + CCS

For the Electrified GV70, perhaps the biggest news is that it will come standard with Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS). Now that more automakers have signed on to use the Tesla Supercharging Network, we’re finally starting to see vehicles built with these ports already installed. However, since the U.S. currently uses the Combined Charging Standard (CCS), the 2026 Genesis GV70 EV will come standard with a CCS adapter. This means owners will have access to more than 36,000 fast chargers immediately.

The Electrified GV70 will also get a larger 84 kWh high-capacity battery that will over more range, but Genesis hasn’t shared the definition of “more” yet.

Available in early 2025

While 2026 seems really far away right now, you won’t have to wait until 2026 to get the refreshed GV70. Genesis says this model will be available in the “first half” of 2025, which could be anywhere from January to June. Because of the lack of details, we’re putting it closer to June.

Pricing and more detailed specs will be available closer to launch, but for reference, the 2025 GV70 starts at $47,050, including destination, and the Electrified GV70 starts at $68,300. We expect a small price bump, but it shouldn’t be anything too drastic.

The bottom line

We think Genesis makes a stellar product, and every design tweak makes it that much better. We’ll have more details and first-drive information as it is available, but we assume the GV70 and Electrified GV70 will be even better than the current model.
