400-Powered 1969 Pontiac Firebird Convertible

Featured on AutoHunter.com, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this 400-powered 1969 Pontiac Firebird convertible. It draws power from a non-original 400ci V8, which is connected to a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. Features include power steering, a vintage-look AM/FM radio, Holley Sniper fuel injection, and nitrous oxide. Finished in Carousel Red and equipped with a white vinyl convertible top over a Parchment vinyl interior, this Pontiac Firebird comes with the removed original 350ci V8, a parts catalog, spare parts, manuals, and a clear title in the seller’s name.  

The body was repainted Carousel Red in 2020. Exterior features include a fender-mounted antenna, color-keyed mirror caps, wheel well and rocker moldings, and a white vinyl convertible top. 

This Firebird connects to the road through a set of 14-inch Pontiac Rally II wheels wrapped in 225/60 front and 245/60 rear BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires that were installed in 2021. 

Inside, the front bucket and rear bench seats are covered in Parchment vinyl. The cabin is equipped with manual windows, power steering, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a center console, and a vintage-look AM/FM radio. 

Important vehicle information is displayed on a 160-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, water temperature, and amps. The odometer reportedly shows 34,554 miles. 

Under the hood, the original 350ci V8 has been replaced with a 400ci V8. That’s equipped with a Holley Sniper fuel injection system, nitrous oxide, an aluminum intake manifold, chrome valve covers, an aluminum radiator, and triple electric fans. Engine power is routed through a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. 

Suspension underpinnings consist of an independent front end, a Positraction rear end, and air shocks. Manual brakes help slow this Firebird down. 

The seller notes the presence of interior wear on the convertible top and a crack in the driver-side Firebird emblem. Their videos below show a cold start and the vehicle being driven.
