Featured on AutoHunter.com, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this 2007 Honda Accord EX coupe. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this vehicle will go to the American Cancer Society.

“The car enthusiast world is a very close-knit family,” said Tyson Hugie, one of our ClassicCars.com Journal contributors. In addition to his editorial work, Tyson has managed an automotive-themed YouTube channel for almost 18 years and has connected with some incredible people via the platform during that time.

One of those individuals was Mark Walters from Arvada, Colorado. Mark was drawn to Tyson’s passion for all things Honda/Acura – especially as illustrated in some of Tyson’s recent restorations.

Earlier this year, Tyson received an email from Mark that said, “I have continuously owned a Honda for 37 years. My first was a 1987 Accord LX-i hatchback, followed by a 2007 Accord EX five-speed, and a 2021 Ridgeline. I now find myself in a grave situation with serious health issues. I need to find a good home for my original 46,000-mile Accord coupe. I am a subscriber and enjoy your beautiful restorations.”

Tyson and Mark connected in the ensuing weeks, and Mark’s beloved Accord was relocated to Arizona. Mark asked that Tyson help him fulfill two wishes: 1) Produce a video about the Accord, and 2) Help find it a good home. Tyson’s video about the Accord went live on June 1, and Mark loved it. “All my friends and family that I shared the video with have given it high praise and felt it was professional quality.”

It was just 19 days later when Tyson was notified by Mark’s nephew that Mark had passed away. Lymphoma had taken him away at only 62 years old.

One of the pieces of paper that accompanied the Accord was a handwritten note from Mark: “Thanks for giving my baby a good home.” And that brings us to today’s AutoHunter Spotlight. Tyson is looking to find the perfect enthusiast home for Mark’s car. A donation of $1,000 from the auction proceeds will be contributed to the American Cancer Society in Mark’s name.

It was purchased at Fisher Honda in Boulder, Colorado, by its first owner and remained with him until early 2024. Power is supplied by a K24 2.4-liter i-VTEC I4 and routed through a five-speed manual transaxle. Features include fog lamps, a power moonroof, and newer Yokohama tires. Finished in Alabaster Silver Metallic over a gray cloth interior, this 45,953-mile Accord coupe comes with service records, a window sticker, an OEM nose mask, spare keys, owner’s booklets, a brochure, service records, a service manual, a CARFAX report, and a clear title in the seller’s name.

The Alabaster Silver Metallic exterior is equipped with OEM-style aftermarket fog lights, heated and power-adjustable mirrors, a power moonroof, front and rear splash guards, and LED taillights.

A set of 16-inch cast aluminum wheels with 205/60 Yokohama tires that were installed in October 2023 connect this Accord to the road.

Inside, the seats are covered in gray cloth. Conveniences include remote keyless entry, power windows and locks, LED ambient lighting, a tilt and telescoping steering column, air conditioning, and a six-speaker AM/FM/CD sound system with a six-disc in-dash CD changer. The trunk has an all-weather mat and contains a compact spare tire with a jack.

Vehicle information is displayed on a 160-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the coolant temperature and fuel level. The odometer shows 45,953 miles, which is in line with the CARFAX report figure of 45,842 miles from May 2024.

Under the hood is a K24 2.4-liter i-VTEC I4 that was factory-rated at 166 horsepower and 160 lb-ft of torque. Output reaches the front wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox. The seller reports that between 2021 and 2024, the following services were performed:

  • Cabin air filter and serpentine belt replaced
  • Windshield wipers and engine air filter changed
  • Mobil One full synthetic oil change in 2023
  • Battery and spark plugs replaced
  • Manual transmission fluid replaced

The four-wheel double-wishbone suspension is equipped with front and rear stabilizer bars. Power anti-lock disc brakes with ceramic pads and drilled and slotted rotors bring this Accord to a stop.

The seller notes the presence of light scratches on the front air dam and that the driver’s seat and door panel are slightly dirty.

The CARFAX report starts in 2007 and indicates ownership in Colorado and Arizona. An accident was reported in 2008; according to the original owner, the car was hit by a truck at less than 5 miles per hour and received cosmetic damage. As a result, the passenger-side door skin and quarter panel, right rear wheel, and rear bumper were replaced with genuine Honda parts.

Several items will be included with the purchase of the vehicle. Those include:

  •     OEM full nose mask with bag
  •     OEM trunk cargo net
  •     Spare pair of front splash guards
  •     Spare polished exhaust finisher
  •     2 regular keys and 1 valet key
  •     Owner’s booklets
  •     Service manual
  •     Brochure
  •     Original purchase documentation
  •     Service records back to new
  •     Registration and emissions paperwork back to new
  •     Touch-up paint
  •     Miscellaneous spare parts
  •     Window sticker showing a $23,245 original retail price

Tyson said, “I was honored that Mark reached out and trusted me with his Accord. His pride of ownership is evident in the way that he documented, maintained, and cared for it. It will be my honor to donate $1,000 of the auction proceeds to the American Cancer Society in Mark’s name.”

In the video below, the seller provides some history on the car, walk-around and driving footage, and a breakdown of everything that comes with the purchase of the vehicle.

The auction for this 2007 Honda Accord EX coupe ends on Monday, August 12, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. (PDT).
