The second-generation Hyundai Palisade has been revealed in South Korea, where it comes in Exclusive, Prestige, and Calligraphy trims, priced from KRW 49.82 million ($34,342). We’re expecting the new Palisade to be announced for the U.S. for MY2026 in the second half of next year.
Here are 6 features that have debuted on the Palisade which can also be expected on the model that’s sailing for the American market.
2.5-liter turbo hybrid powertrain
The new Palisade debuts Hyundai Motor Group’s all-new 2.5-liter hybrid system which is tuned to deliver 334 PS (329 hp).
It comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission, with an optional mechanical all-wheel drive system. Thanks to the 72 hp electric motor, the next-gen Palisade offers modes such as E-Ride, E-Handling, e-DTVC (Electric Assisted Dynamic Torque Vectoring Control), and E-HA (Electrically Evasive Handling Assist). The new system is designed to make significant strides in power, torque, and fuel efficiency, and is expected to get the Palisade into the 25-30 mpg bracket.
V2L
In the style of an EV, the 2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) feature. The hybrid system’s 1.65 kWh battery, accessible from inside the vehicle, can be used to power appliances or electronic devices.
9-seater version & rear seat massage function
The next-gen Palisade debuts a folding center-console between the first- and second-row seats which becomes a middle seat. We aren’t sure if this configuration will be offered stateside, but what’s certain to us is that the 7-seater, with second-row captain chairs, will be offered in our market. This configuration also gets relaxation comfort features for the second row, including an optional dynamic massage functionality, which is another first for the Palisade.
600+ mile range
Hyundai has not confirmed the official fuel efficiency figures of the Palisade Hybrid, but it expects the electrified SUV to have a range of over 1,000 km (621 miles) on a single tank of gas.
The fuel tank capacity is 19 gallons, which is only slightly over the current model (18.8 gallons), but it’s the new hybrid system which helps achieve this feat. Where the current Palisade has an EPA-estimated range of 414 miles in the FWD configuration and 395 miles in the AWD configuration, we’re expecting the Palisade Hybrid to comfortably surpass 500 miles in the American test procedures.
Electronic Controlled Suspension (ECS)
The new Palisade debuts an electronically-controlled suspension system which adjusts damping based on road conditions and navigation data to improve ride comfort. Hyundai has also stated that it has improved noise isolation for further comfort in the new-generation model.
Island-type center console
While the current Palisade has a conventional center console that flows outward from the dashboard, the second-gen model debuts the island-type front center console where the gear selector is relocated to the steering column. The freed-up space is used to install the movable console which hosts a wireless phone charger, USB-C ports with up to 100W output, dual-opening console boxes on top, cupholders, and a storage compartment below.
