Rarest of the Rare

Mercedes-AMG has a storied history of crafting some of the most exclusive and high-performance vehicles in the automotive world. Beyond its reputation for engineering excellence, the brand has occasionally ventured into creating ultra-rare, limited-production models that cater to collectors. These vehicles, often tied to significant milestones or groundbreaking innovations, exemplify the pinnacle of exclusivity.

SL 63 AMG World Championship 2014 Editions – 19 Units of Each

Produced in honor of Mercedes’ dominant 2014 Formula 1 season, the SL 63 AMG World Championship Editions epitomize exclusivity. Designed by Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, each driver’s edition bore unique aesthetics—Hamilton’s in a striking Designo Night Black Mango with gold highlights, and Rosberg’s in a more subdued Designo Cashmere White Mango with gray accents. With just 19 units per design, these SL 63 convertibles are rare collectibles symbolizing the beginning of Mercedes’ F1 supremacy.

CLK GTR: 26 Units

Born out of the FIA GT Championship-winning AMG GT1 race car, the CLK GTR bridges the gap between track and road. Only 18 coupes were produced between 1998 and 1999, featuring a 6.9-liter V12 engine delivering 622 horsepower. 6 units of the CLK GTR’s limited production were converted to roadsters, and only two CLK GTR SuperSport variants were built, which represent the most extreme performance capabilities offered in the unbelievable package.

C 63 AMG DR520: 20 Units

Exclusively released in the UK in 2010, the C 63 AMG DR520 marked the final chapter for the W204 C-Class. With only 20 units produced, this model offered significant upgrades over the standard C 63, including forged pistons, con-rods, and crankshafts that boosted output to 520 horsepower. Available in sedan or wagon variants and finished in matte black or white, it combined enhanced performance with subtle exclusivity, appealing to a niche audience of AMG enthusiasts.

SL 55 AMG Mille Miglia Edition – 10 Units

Limited to just 10 units in 1999, the SL 55 AMG Mille Miglia Edition pays homage to Mercedes-Benz’s success in the famed endurance race. Featuring Mille Miglia badging, unique paint, and custom wheels, this rare variant of the SL 55 AMG commands respect among collectors, making it a scarce gem to find in the market.

C 63 AMG Legacy Edition “507” – 10 Units

Marking the end of the naturally aspirated V8 era in the C-Class, the Legacy Edition “507” was a South Africa-exclusive release. With only 10 units made, its 507-horsepower M156 V8 engine was complemented by striking Viper Green Magno paint and performance-focused upgrades like high-performance brakes and a limited-slip differential.

A 38 AMG – 4 Units

The A 38 AMG represents one of AMG’s most inventive projects. With only four units produced in 2000, it featured dual 1.9-liter engines, giving it a combined output of 250 horsepower and AWD capability. Two of these went to F1 stars Mika Häkkinen and David Coulthard, further cementing the model’s status as a collector’s treasure.

G 63 AMG Cigarette Edition – 1 Unit

Blending AMG engineering with marine design, the G 63 AMG Cigarette Edition is a one-of-a-kind collaboration with Cigarette Racing. With a black-and-gold exterior and a matching luxury interior inspired by the boat it accompanied, this 2020 creation represents the ultimate in bespoke craftsmanship and rarity.
