Newport, RI – The prestigious Audrain Collection showcased one of its rare gems, the 1964 ATS 2500 GT, at the 2024 Concours at Wynn Las Vegas, where it was awarded the coveted title of ‘Most Elegant Post War Car’ and a Second in Class. This extraordinary vehicle, one of only six known to exist, captivated enthusiasts and judges alike with its timeless design and impeccable craftsmanship. The car was acquired by the Audrain Collections from the renowned collection of Dr. Nicholas Begovich back in 2020.
The 1964 ATS 2500 GT’s win at the Concours at Wynn Las Vegas solidifies its status as one of the rarest and most unique Italian sportscars ever. Delivered new with “Nürburgring” gearing, Begovich purchased an additional, lower gear set for the car from the factory and installed it for greater roadability.
Automobili Turismo e Sport, an Italian automotive manufacturer, made its mark in the automotive world with the introduction of the ATS 2500, the first mid-engined GT car built in Italy. This iconic vehicle not only showcases advanced engineering and performance but also marked a significant milestone in Italian automobile history.
The ATS 2500 GTS also proved itself to be an exceptional addition to the world of sports cars. Designed by the renowned Carlo Chiti, the all-aluminum 3.0L V8 engine, which delivers an impressive 250 HP close to 9000 RPM, set new standards in performance and power. This innovation underscored ATS’s commitment to pushing boundaries and delivering top-notch driving experiences.
