Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this rotisserie-restored 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. All Z/28s were powered by a 302ci V8 backed by a four-speed manual, but it wasn’t well-known in 1967 until word-of-mouth increased its popularity for 1968. Features include 4,56 gears, rear spoiler, Deluxe steering wheel, power front disc brakes, special instrumentation, center console, AM radio, and more. Painted gold over a black vinyl interior, this Trans-Am homologation special comes from the selling dealer with the original sales invoice and loan contract, window sticker, Protect-O-Plate, and clear title.

This Z/28 is presented to you in Ash Gold (code G), the original color for this vehicle, plus black Z/28 stripes on the hood and trunk lid. Features include rear spoiler, rear bumper guards, wheel well and rocker moldings, and fender-mounted antenna. During restoration, the rear tail panel was blacked-out.

A set of 15-inch Rally wheels are wrapped in white-letter E70 x 15 Goodyear Wide Tread GT bias-ply tires.

The cabin is furnished in black vinyl with front bucket seats, though the original color was Gold (code 722). Features include console with Hurst shifter, Deluxe steering wheel with power steering, and AM radio.

The instrument panel consists of a 120-mph speedometer and 7,000-rpm tachometer with clock, plus factory gauges for the oil pressure, battery, temperature, and fuel mounted on the console. The odometer shows 43,449 miles, which is reportedly accurate.

The standard 302 small-block was proprietary to the Z/28. It is topped by a single Holley four-barrel carburetor on an aluminum intake manifold. Other features include chrome valve covers and air cleaner housing. The engine is connected to a close-ratio M21 four-speed manual.

The undercarriage features an independent front suspension and solid rear-drive axle with 12-bolt rear. This vehicle is unusual in that it was ordered from the factory with Positraction and 4.56 gears. Featuring power brakes with front discs, this Camaro also has a dual-exhaust system that exists behind the rear tires.

Provided with the sale will be pictures and documentation detailing every nut and bolt that was used in the restoration process.

The auction for this rotisserie-restored 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 ends Monday, July 8, 2024 at 1:45 p.m. (PDT).
