Featured on AutoHunter.com, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this restored 1970 Ford Mustang hardtop. It is powered by a 351 Windsor V8 with a two-barrel carburetor, paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a blue houndstooth vinyl top, air conditioning, dual side mirrors, a console, an AM/FM stereo, and a tilt steering wheel, among others. Painted Medium Blue metallic over a black Deluxe vinyl interior, this stylish Mustang comes from the seller with a clear title.
The original Medium Blue metallic was resprayed during the Mustang’s 1998 restoration. Features include dual body-colored racing mirrors, a front antenna, rocker panel trim, and an unusual factory houndstooth vinyl top.
A set of 195/75 Sears Silent Response whitewall radial tires are wrapped around 14-inch wheels with brushed aluminum wheel covers.
The cabin consists of the optional Deluxe interior featuring high-back black vinyl front bucket seats. Other interior features include a center console with an automatic transmission shifter, faux woodgrain accents, a tilt steering wheel, a clock, and an AM/FM stereo.
The instrument panel consists of a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for the coolant temperature, oil pressure, alternator, and fuel level. The odometer reads 10,955 miles, but the seller says it is likely 110,955.
The original engine in this Mustang is the first step up from the base 302 V8, which is the “H-code” 351 two-barrel. In some Mustangs, they were the Cleveland series, while this one is a Windsor. It is backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Under-hood features include air conditioning.
The undercarriage features a single exhaust system. A new gas tank was installed in 2021.
