Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this 1978 Jeep J10 4WD. It is powered by a four-barrel 360cid V8 backed by a four-speed manual transmission plus a dual-range transfer case. Features include the Custom Truck package, sliding rear window, rear step bumper, power steering and brakes (with front discs), and digital radio upgrade. Finished in a bright blue with a black vinyl interior, this Jeep J10 comes from the selling dealer with documentation starting in 1978, and a clear title.

The repainted Brilliant Blue hue (code 6R) shines brightly in the sun. The Custom Truck package included a chrome front bumper, and chrome window and side trim, among other items. Other features include cowl-mounted antenna, dual side mirrors, rear step bumper, and tonneau cover.

Fifteen-inch slotted aluminum wheels with manual front locking hubs are wrapped in 30- by 9.50-inch LT Wild Country Radial XTX tires.

The reportedly original black vinyl cabin features bucket seats with a center “buddy seat” and armrest. Features include power steering, floor-mounted transmission shifter, transfer case, and a Prodigy trailer brake controller. Window and door trim, and headliner have been replaced.

The instrument panel consists of a 100-mph speedometer and gauges for the coolant temperature, oil pressure, amperage, and fuel. An aftermarket oil pressure gauge is mounted below the instrument panel. A dashboard-mounted clock can be found closer to the passenger side. The odometer shows 28,417 miles but the true mileage is unknown.

The reportedly original (code P) 360 V8 features a four-barrel carburetor. The 360 is controlled by a four-speed manual transmission and dual-range transfer case.

Underneath, you’ll find a solid front axle and solid rear-drive axle. The transfer case operates in conjunction with the locking front hubs to offer part-time four-wheel drive. The power brake system consists of front discs and rear drums. A dual exhaust system exits from both sides in front of the rear wheels.

The auction for this 1978 Jeep J10 4WD ends Friday, June 14, 2024 at 11:45 a.m. (PDT).
