The Mustang has always been known for its fun-factor. Back in 1999, Ford’s marketing teams portrayed a young woman about to take her driving test. Her instructor was none other than NASCAR driver Rusty Wallace, who at that time was 44 years old and still racking up trophies. After a series of performance maneuvers on the track, the Mustang skids into a spot between two vehicles. “Parallel parking – check,” Rusty announces.
Featured on AutoHunter is this 10K-mile 1999 Ford Mustang GT. The car is being sold by a dealer in Paris, Kentucky, and the auction will end on Thursday.
Dubbed the “SN95” internally, the 1994 Mustang was the fourth generation of Ford’s ever-popular pony car. Under its skin, the SN95 shared some components with the outgoing Fox platform from the prior generation. The Mustang was proclaimed Motor Trend’s Car of the Year when it launched and Ford sold about 10,000 more Mustangs in 1994 compared to 1993, so the marketplace received the car with open arms (and checkbooks).
For 1999, the Mustang’s styling was revamped with creased, hard lines taking the place of the previously rounded shape. The GT was a higher-performance and better-handling variant that was powered by a 4.6-liter V8; the 1999 GT was rated at 260 horsepower and 302 lb-ft of torque.
Even after 25 years on the road, this car has only accrued 10,306 miles on its odometer. The CARFAX report, which supports the mileage reading, is short and sweet – showing accident-free Kentucky ownership since new.
The car is coated in (aptly named) Performance Red over a Midnight Black and Silver leather interior. It is also optioned with the “35th Anniversary” livery both inside and out. Included in that package were a body-color hood scoop, a rear spoiler, rocker moldings, a black hood applique, fender badges, a special instrument cluster, and embroidered floor mats.
Also included with the vehicle are a number of collector-grade materials, including the original window sticker, two key fobs, a 35th Anniversary hat, and owner’s booklets. The solid combination of an exceptionally low mileage reading, an accident-free history, a special-edition configuration, and all the supporting documentation make this 1999 GT a premier car for any Mustang collector or enthusiast.
Magazine advertisements drew similarities to the Mustang GT of 30 years prior, saying, “In the 1999 Mustang GT, all 260 horses are harnessed to a 3.27:1 rear axle that pours every ounce of power and torque directly into the pavement. Same rebel spirit, but now with advanced firepower.”
The auction for this 10K-mile 1999 Ford Mustang GT will end Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. (PDT).
