Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this 2015 Bentley Continental GT V8 S Convertible.

One of the print ads for the Bentley Continental GT said, “You can lead an interesting life now, or embellish your autobiography later.” The car makes me think of the popular phrase, “YOLO,” (You Only Live Once). It’s more than a vehicle: It’s an achievement, a reward, a status symbol. And it could be yours.

After being previously offered on AutoHunter in June 2023, the 27,304-mile luxo-car is now being offered by the same dealer in Sarasota, Florida with a lowered reserve price. The auction will end Monday.

From its beginning, the Continental GT was the epitome of a British “grand touring” personal luxury car. Assembled in Crewe, England, and offered as either a coupe or convertible, it was first introduced to the marketplace for model year 2003 at the Paris Motor Show and quickly established a foothold as an executive ride for the society’s “rich and famous.”

A second generation of the Continental GT was drawn up by Belgian designer Dirk van Braeckel. His automotive career first started out when he landed an apprentice job at Ford in Germany, but he later joined Audi in 1984. He moved up the ranks within Volkswagen Group and went on to design many luxury cars for the Bentley brand including the 2005 Flying Spur, the 2007 Brooklands, the 2009 Mulsanne, and of course the Continental GT.

Today’s featured GT V8 S convertible has a window sticker showing a base price of $219,400 and then $25,290 in itemized options. Among the add-on goodies are a sports exhaust system, an interior style group, tinted front and rear lamps, carbon fiber fascia panels, ventilated and massaging front seats, and a dual-tone three-spoke steering wheel. What’s left to desire?

It is only appropriate that a luxury car of this caliber have a powertrain that conveys capability and authority. Under the hood, this Continental has a 521-horsepower 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 connected to a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission and a Torsen all-wheel drive system.

If you are looking for a car that says you’ve arrived before you even leave town, this might be the vehicle you need to add to your garage. Let me know how you like those massaging seats!

The auction for this 2015 Bentley Continental GT V8 S Convertible ends Monday, August 12, 2024 at 11:15 a.m. (PDT)
