Featured on AutoHunter is this 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT 392. The car is being sold by a private seller in Ingleside, Illinois, and the auction will end on Wednesday.
Leather-trimmed (and heated!) seats, integrated voice command, an 18-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a touchscreen display are niceties you might expect to find in a luxury sedan. But you’re in luck: All of the above are included with a 485-horsepower sports car, and it can be yours soon.
Launched in 2008, the third-generation Challenger was engineered to take on its sports car rivals, the Chevrolet Camaro and the Ford Mustang. Its exterior design cues were taken from the 1970 Challenger R/T – a bold retro move that was met with accolades from the public. The Challenger helped reignite the passion for muscle cars that is such a central element of American history.
The Challenger was assembled in Brampton, Ontario, Canada and offered only as a two-door coupe throughout its lifespan. For model year 2015, the Challenger received a facelift including a new grille, halo headlights, LED taillights, and functional hood intakes across all models. This Granite Crystal Metallic SRT is unmodified and shows a squeaky-clean history: the CARFAX report classifies it as a one-owner that has resided in Illinois ownership since new. An emissions inspection was performed in June 2023.
In true muscle car fashion, power is a strong point: momentum comes from a 6.4-liter SRT HEMI V8 mated to a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission. The “392” in the car’s name is a nod to the engine’s 392-cubic-inch displacement. The motor was engineered by Stellantis’ “Street and Racing Technology” (SRT) team carried ratings of 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. Dodge said of the Challenger SRT, “Serious street-cred runs through its veins, pumped by a heart born and bred on the track.”
The window sticker shows an original retail price of $48,385, which included some optional equipment: Technology Group (adaptive speed control, automatic high beams, forward collision warning, rain-sensitive wipers), TorqueFlite automatic transmission, and a remote start system.
It appears you can have your cake and eat it too. This muscle car will give you all the necessary creature comforts for a daily driver, yet still put a grin on your face when you need to put the pedal to the metal.
The auction for this 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT 392 will end Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. (PDT)
