Have you recovered yet? We spent half a week at the Barrett-Jackson 2024 Scottsdale Fall Auction and we’re still decompressing. During the four-day automotive lifestyle event, 794 collectible cars and trucks, and 429 authentic automobilia pieces crossed the stage. That’s a resounding $56.6 million in total!

Excitement was at its peak when Sammy Hagar drove his 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari onto the block with his wife to the rhythm of “I Can’t Drive 55.” Finished in a custom cream color that Sammy saw in a photograph at Ferrari’s Maranello headquarters, the Ferrari of Ferraris sold for $4.675 million.

However, that moment was rivaled by the impact of two charity vehicles that together raised $1.25 million. VIN 001 of the Cadillac Escalade IQ, the new-for-2025 EV version of Cadillac’s legendary SUV, was donated by General Motors and sold to the tune of $550,000, with the proceeds benefiting the Detroit Children’s Fund.

The other charity vehicle was a 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse donated by Mike and Tracy Patterson, which was purchased by Michelle Mauzy for $350,000, then donated again and purchased by Joe Riley for an additional $250,000. Then the Pattersons made a further $100,000 donation, with the $700,000 in total proceeds going to Samaritan’s Purse to aid in current hurricane relief efforts.

“As evidenced by our top 10 sales, supercars, professionally built Resto-Mods and well-preserved survivor vehicles were in high demand,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “And our eclectic mix of collectible vehicles is already building anticipation for our January auction. We also hosted the Future Collector Car Show, along with interactive exhibits and activities that are reaching younger enthusiasts, which is fueling excitement and securing the future of our hobby.”
