DES MOINES, IOWA – Car lovers are in store for a  showcase of automotive history and design at the highly anticipated Des Moines Concours, scheduled to take place on September 8, 2024. Travel from Back Roads to Boulevards as the event transforms the picturesque John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park in downtown Des Moines into a breathtaking display of vintage and classic motor vehicles.

Whether you’re a dedicated automotive enthusiast, a casual admirer of timeless design, or a family looking for an exciting day out, the 2024 Des Moines Concours offers something for everyone. With free admission and the opportunity to make a difference through donations, this is an event not to be missed.

The event will showcase a meticulously curated collection of twelve distinct classes of vehicles, including an exciting NEW station wagon class. Each class offers a visual journey through different eras, celebrating the craftsmanship, ingenuity, and passion of designers and engineers.

  • Early Collectibles (1928-1942)
  • Atomic Age Collectibles (1946-1957)
  • Space Age Collectibles (1958-1969)
  • Preservation (unaltered survivors before 1974)
  • Classics (1915-1948)
  • Exotics
  • American Muscle (up to 1973)
  • Motorcycles
  • American Station Wagons (up to 1984)
  • Porsche 911 (60th Anniversary)
  • Volkswagen (1949-1981 in America).

Driven by a Greater Purpose

Beyond showcasing awe-inspiring vehicles, the 2024 Des Moines Concours serves a deeper purpose. Proceeds from the event will benefit Children’s Cancer Connection (CCC), an organization dedicated to supporting Iowa families impacted by childhood cancer. Through generous fundraising and donor efforts, CCC provides educational resources, support outings, camp programs, events, and other outreach to more than 760 Iowa families at no cost to them. By attending and participating in this event, attendees contribute to a cause that truly matters.

Weekend Schedule

  • Friday, September 6th: Kick off the festivities with the 3rd Annual Des Moines Concours Charity Gala at the elegant Stine Barn in West Des Moines. The evening always promises quality entertainment from 5:30 to 8:30 PM, offering a fantastic way to start the weekend!
  • Saturday, September 7th: Embark on the 18th Annual Heartland Driving Tour at 7:30 AM, a nostalgic journey through Iowa’s scenic highways and charming towns. The tour culminates and lunch is served at the renowned Albaugh Collection, featuring a remarkable array of Chevrolet convertibles from 1913 to 1975. Highlights include every production color combination of the iconic 1957 Bel Air Convertible, making this a must-see destination for classic car enthusiasts.
  • Sunday, September 8th: The grand finale arrives with the Des Moines Concours at the Pappajohn Sculpture Park. From 10 AM to 4 PM, witness over 150 meticulously restored cars, explore a lively midway featuring food and merchandise vendors, and engage in family-friendly activities like the radio-controlled car race track and more.
