For the first time ever, Mazda is the presenting sponsor of the Life Time Grand Prix — one of professional cycling’s biggest and most exciting race series. This series of six races, owned and produced by the nation’s premier Healthy Way of Life brand also known for its athletic resorts, invites 60 of the most seasoned professional cyclists to tackle uniquely challenging courses across multiple types of terrain.
Life Time Grand Prix Presented by Mazda
The Mazda CX-50 is joining the Life Time Grand Prix cycling tour because Mazda believes that time spent in nature fuels our curiosities and inspires our lifeblood, allowing us to be more human in nature. From your driveway to the trailhead, CX-50 makes it easier than ever to confidently explore.
“We are excited to introduce Mazda to our off-road cycling community as their efforts to open doors for consumers to experience the outdoors is an ethos we share,” said Kimo Seymour, President of Media and Events at Life Time.
Designed for the Outdoors
Just making it to the starting line is already a show of excellence and passion. Cyclists apply to compete in the series, and just 30 men and 30 women are chosen to move forward. With a combination of gravel and mountain biking, the Grand Prix series challenges professional cyclists like no other race. Each event varies not only in location but in distance, the ratio of gravel and mountain biking, as well as elevation loss and gain.
Life Time’s Grand Prix also rewards professional cyclists like no other. A $250,000 total prize purse with equal payout for women and men is on the line. For these professional athletes, taking home the prize purse means an increased likelihood of sponsorship and more opportunities to continue their racing careers. Mazda is proud to be a presenting sponsor of this exciting race series.
Much like these cyclists traverse uneven paths, so can the CX-50. Purpose-built for the outdoors, the CX-50 offers a confident driving experience on almost any terrain. This is made possible by standard all-wheel drive, an available turbo engine, and the new Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive) technology that offers sport, off-road, and towing drive modes. Ample cargo space makes it easy to load all the necessary gear for the next trail.
“As more consumers engage in outdoor activities such as mountain and gravel biking, we want to be there with them, sharing the benefits of time spent immersed in nature without compromising on premium design and outstanding driving performance,” said Brad Audet, Chief Marketing Officer, at Mazda North American Operations.
