• Mercedes-Benz has been a long-standing partner of the League of Legends Esports.
  • As such, it recently unveiled a new version of the G-Class EV during the multiplayer online battle arena video game’s most important event of the year.
Mercedes-Benz G-Class for League of Legends

In collaboration with Riot Games, the developer behind League of Legends, Mercedes-Benz will serve as the competition’s official trophy carrier. Making things more special was its unveiling of a bespoke G-Class EV, which will present the Summoner’s Cup at the League of Legends World Championship 2024.

Features of the Special Mercedes-Benz G-Class EV

Mercedes’ MANUFAKTUR program customized the electric G-Class for the special occasion. The electric SUV carries an all-black armor with the event’s slogan, “Make Them Believe,” printed on its sides panels alongside the collaborators’ logos.

Inside, Mercedes embroidered the League of Legends logo on its headrests. Meanwhile, the German luxury automaker personalized the EV’s rear baggage compartment to safely transport the Summoner’s Cup trophy.

Overall, the changes in the G-Class, which was specially tailored for the event, are mostly aesthetic. With that, the G580 with EQ Technology gets to keep the configuration of its four electric motors.

The G-Class EV boasts 579 hp and 859 lb-ft of torque. This allows the auto to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in mere 4.6 seconds.

The vehicle is best known for its revolutionary 360-degree turning capability, also known as the “tank turn” feature.

The League of Legends World Championship

The League of Legends championship kicked off in Berlin, Germany, this month. The organizers will hold the next event in Paris, France, this October, and the finals will take place in November at the O2 Arena in London, UK.

T1, led by the famous player Faker, will be defending its title this year. The team is coming in fresh from its LCK Regional Finals victory early this month.
