Mercedes is coming with a series of model year 2025 updates on the American market including the new Mercedes Glass facelift, the electric G 580 with EQ technology, the EQS sedan facelift, and new AMG models.

Mercedes G-Class facelift and the first electric G-Class

The facelifted Mercedes G-Class is already available at Mercedes-Benz dealers in G 550, AMG G 63, and G 580 EQ versions.
The new Mercedes G 550 ditches the 4.0-liter V8 engine in favor of a 3.0-liter inline-6 that develops 443 HP/6,100 rpm and 413 lb-ft/1,950 rpm. For the first time, the inline 6-cylinder engine is equipped with a 48V mild hybrid system that supports the combustion engine during acceleration with 20 HP and 147 lb-ft but cannot propel the car on its own.

The top-spec AMG G 63 also gets a 48V mild hybrid system similar to the G 550, and AMG Active Ride Control suspension is available as an option with the AMG Performance and AMG Off-road Pro packages. Both models benefit from upgrades to the MBUX multimedia system.

The Mercedes G 580 with EQ Technology is all-new, the first electric G-Class in the model’s 45-year history. The electric Mercedes G-Class uses the platform with a robust ladder frame from the conventional model, with an independent front axle and rigid rear axle. It is powered by four electric motors, one at each wheel. Each motor has its own inverter and a 2:1 low-range ratio for hard off-road. The 116 kWh battery is protected by a thick plate of carbon fiber.

Mercedes EQS sedan facelift

The Mercedes EQS sedan gets a discreet facelift that features a new grille design and Mercedes-Benz standing star on the hood, as well as new standard and optional equipment to enhance comfort for rear passengers.

The Mercedes EQS sedan also gets a larger battery from the EQS SUV, giving it a longer range and new regenerative braking software for greater energy recuperation. It will be available at US dealers in the first half of 2025, alongside the updated EQE.
Customers who purchase a new 2025 model year battery electric vehicle receive a new charging offer: the choice of a $1,000 credit on their Mercedes me Charge account or a Mercedes-Benz Home Wallbox. The Mercedes Me Charge network integrates over 85,000 AC and DC charging stations across the U.S. and is continuously expanding to give customers a single platform to access public chargers.

Two new Mercedes GLC  versions

The Mercedes GLC is available in two new versions, both PHEV: the GLC 350e 4Matic and the AMG GLC 63 S E Performance, which combines the AMG 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with an electric motor at the rear axle and offers an impressive 671 HP and 752 lb-ft total.

Three new Mercedes-AMG GT versions

The range of the new AMG GT sports model also expands with three versions: the AMG GT 43 with a 2-liter turbocharged engine and rear-wheel drive, the AMG GT 63 PRO 4Matic+, and the AMG GT 63 S E Performance AMG GT 63 with a potent PHEV system that gives it 0-60 mph acceleration in just 2.7 seconds.

Two new AMG models

The AMG division comes with two new additions: the Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid and the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 cabriolet.

The AMG E 53 Hybrid is a high-performance PHEV that combines the 443-hp 3.0-liter inline-6-cylinder turbocharged engine with a 161-hp electric motor, resulting in an impressive 577 hp (604 hp with Race Start).

The Mercedes -AMG CLE 53 Cabriolet uses the same 3-liter turbocharged engine with 443 HP and 413 lb-ft (443 lb-ft with 10-second overboost function) in a 48V mild hybrid system, where the ICE engine is backed by a 23 HP, 151 lb-ft electric motor.
