After changing my opinion more times than I’d like, I placed an order for a 2025 Ram 1500 RHO, and I’m pretty thrilled at the deal I’m getting.
The 2025 Ram 1500 RHO is basically an updated version of the vaunted Ram 1500 TRX except with a new high-output, twin-turbo inline-6 Hurricane engine. It only comes in a crew cab, 5-foot, 7-inch box.
2025 Ram 1500 RHO price with packages
The first question you might have is: How much did I spend? The RHO has a pretty surprisingly low starting price of $71,990 with a $1,995 destination fee included. They tout it as being $69,995.
Unlike most Ram 1500 trucks, such as the Big Horn I canceled, the RHO doesn’t have many packages or options.
In fact, it has one equipment group add-on of $9,995 and a small variety of additional options. I’ll include a full list of the group add-ons and options at the bottom of this post.
For my order, I added the equipment group, the graphics, a dual-pane panoramic moonroof, and the 2kW on-board power generator similar to what I had on the 2021 Ford F-150 PowerBoost.
I also selected a two-tone paint option with white and black along the bottom of the truck.
This brought my price to $84,870 with the aforementioned destination fee.
That’s quite a bit more than the starting price, yet I’m getting a rather surprising and large discount.
A reader emailed me and told me about Mark Dodge Chrysler Jeep in Lake Charles, Louisiana. They offer big discounts depending on how much you pay. After some back and forth with sales person Michal Stanak, I received my order confirmation with $10k off the price.
That brought my price to $74,970, which is not so far off the starting price.

Why the Ram 1500 RHO over other trucks?
This year I went back and forth with trying to buy a Tacoma then the Ram 1500 Big Horn. Why did I end up picking the Ram 1500 RHO?
First, the Tacoma I wanted was just too much money. I just can’t see spending $55,000 for a Tacoma TRD Off-Road including the $9,995 package with all the goodies I wanted to get.
Then, I really want the Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter. I really like that truck, but again, the starting price of $62,000 is just too much for a midsize truck for me.
And the Ram 1500 Big Horn I had placed an order on came out to $72,575 with all the options. I could have found one a lot cheaper, and I did. However, those trucks didn’t have many options on them, and I’d run out of things to talk about real fast if I was only talking about the engine.
The Ram 1500 RHO has enough of the new features and I think enough appeal to views from our audience. It really came down to just making the business decision to find the newest truck this year with the most appeal.
The bottom line
Buying a new truck each year sounds fun, but it is actually pretty stressful trying to find THE one. I’m pretty happy with the RHO choice and getting the equipment group package for free with the discount. More to come on this truck.
