As rewarding as it can be to restore a vehicle from the ground up, I can personally attest that it can be expensive, time-consuming, and stressful to do so. One alternative is to skip right to the fun part: Pay a little extra up front and buy something that is already show-ready (potentially even award-winning)!

What we have here is a restomod-style build that mounts the original Henry Ford steel truck body on a Roy Brizio powder-coated frame. Key engineering elements include a Heidts independent front suspension, a 1932-model grille, and an aluminum three-piece hood. And living beneath that hood is a 1970 351ci Cleveland V8 that has been bored .020 over and balanced. I admire the builder of this truck for keeping it all-Ford, as we frequently see small-block Chevrolet engines used in builds like this. The engine was reportedly rebuilt by Morgan’s Machine and Marine in Walnut Creek, California.
The enhancements don’t stop there, though. Despite being over 90 years old, the truck has some welcome comfort and safety features like air conditioning, a tilt steering column, and Wilwood front disc brakes. The exterior refurbishment, which was done by Avenue Auto Body, incorporates a hot rod theme complete with airbrushed flames. The battery is cleverly housed in a Coca-Cola cooler in the bed.
The seller says that the truck has only been driven about 4,700 miles since it was completed in 2003. Based on the included photos of the underbody, it appears to have been a fair-weather cruiser, as things remain very neat and tidy despite the restoration having been done over two decades ago.
Getting back to the opening paragraph: It’s cool to know that with only the effort of writing a check, you could drive away with a truck that has reportedly collected an Award of Excellence at the Pleasanton Goodguys Nationals and a first-place trophy at the 2014 Clayton Community Church Derby and Car Show. And it can possibly bring home even more trophies after you buy it!
The asking price is $35,000 or best offer, and the truck will come with build receipts and documentation.
