CARTERSVILLE, GEORGIA – The Savoy Automobile Museum announced The Connection car show, which benefits the museum, is set to take place on August 17, 2024, in Cartersville, GA. This open-classification car show will bring car enthusiasts of all ages together to share their passion for automobiles. Spectators are invited to enjoy the activities on the Showgrounds from 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

This year, Sam Mahdavi, host of “Lokar Car Show,” will be filming an upcoming episode at The Connection, to be aired on MotorTrend and MAVTV. Mahdavi will walk the grounds, interviewing select show car participants about their vehicles. In addition, Riley Schlick-Trask of Riley’s Rebuilds will be onsite.

Family-Friendly Fun and Activities

Kids 12 and under can participate in a “Make & Take” session by Atlanta Car Model Enthusiasts (while supplies last), play on inflatables, take a photo with our car cutouts, or enjoy the corn hole game. Adults can explore the new vendor area and engage with organizations offering various products and services.

Food and Refreshments

Breakfast will be available for purchase from Nagel’s Bagels. The Savoy Cafe will offer multiple selections for lunch, with additional options from Choate BBQ, Cheez’d and Confuzed, and Fork & Spoon, providing a diverse and delicious selection to satisfy lunchtime cravings. For dessert, visitors can indulge in delectable treats from Fire & Ice Frozen Treats and Sugary Dozen, adding a delightful finish to a meal.

Awards and Exhibits

Wrapping up the day, an awards ceremony will take place on the showgrounds at 3:00 p.m. This year, the museum will present nineteen People’s Choice Awards, including one by special guest judge Sam Mahdavi and one Savoy’s Choice Award. Visitors will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite vehicles. Inside the museum, visitors can enjoy exhibits from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., featuring the Savoy Collection, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum – Part 1, Moonshiners, Prominent Packards, and Rad Cars of Savoy.

Commemorative Merchandise

Before leaving, visitors can purchase custom-designed shirts to commemorate the day and show their support for the museum. The Connection promises to be an exciting event for car enthusiasts and the community. Admission Details

Admission to the museum includes admission to the car show. Spectators purchasing a ticket online can save $2 off admission.

  • Active Military – Complimentary – Active Military – Complimentary – We are proud to be a Blue Star Museum. This program provides free museum admission to active-duty military personnel and their immediate families. The Blue Star Museum program begins on Armed Forces Day (May 18, 2024) and continues each year through Labor Day (Monday, September 2, 2024). It includes Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and National Guard Reserves. Blue Star Family members must show their Geneva Convention Common Access Card (CAC), DD Form 1173 ID (dependent), or DD1173-1 identification card.
