Today Toyota presents the first instalment of its new Toyota E-Collection, a range of sustainable concept ideas designed for adaptable modern living.
In a world filled with content streams and product launches, the E-Collection is driven by a commitment to functionality and is informed by Toyota’s brand mission to deliver mobility for all.
The concept line-up applies Toyota’s latest, innovative technologies to create solutions for future living, based on the understanding people’s lifestyles will be increasingly hybrid and hyper-connected.
The Toyota E-Collection includes ideas for working professionals, nature lovers, fashionistas, modern families and music lovers.
Each has been conceptualised in response to the kind of everyday challenges Toyota predicts the people of tomorrow may face, from a new generation of hybrid workers to those who want to stay informed while disconnected from their digital devices.
Craving a change of scene from the home office set-up? The ThinkTent is an idea for a portable office that can be pitched in nature without losing your connection. Considering a pet but not keen on commitment? The ChirpM8 is a vision for a digital companion that helps look after your mental well-being.
These six ideas are not physical items, but digital design concepts to spark conversations about what might be possible when technology, design and imagination collide.
The Toyota E-Collection concept ideas
ThinkTent: an urban escape designed for remote workers who crave fresh inspiration and a change of scenery. It’s imagined as a spacious yet compact, sleek yet sturdy, solar-powered tent that would provide a pop-up work space wherever needed – eco-friendly, multipurpose and ready to meet the demands of modern working life.
ChirpM8: a digital pet concept that could help your well-being, entertaining and interacting with you with bird-like sounds to help relieve the stress of urban life.
AdjusTable: an idea for a table that can be adapted in height, shape and size to serve different purposes, from work desk to dining table or kids’ activity bench.
DualGuitar: imagine a guitar that powers your life as you play it. Every strum and riff generates clean energy, turning music into electricity for your home devices in this E-Collection design concept.
AWD trainers: multipurpose trainers for performance in all weathers, whether you’re hitting a trail, sprinting through the rain, hiking a snowy mountain or just navigating city streets. The design idea is for traction, stability and comfort, to help you reach your destination whatever the conditions.
Notification Nails: the tips of these imagined fingernail extensions change colour to signal different types of notification so the wearer could stay connected and in touch without having to keep checking their phone.
Further concepts in the Toyota E-Collection will be revealed at 0900 GMT on 12 December 2024 at toyotaecollection.com.
