Miami, FL– Organized by the Consulate General of Italy, and in the presence of the Consul General Michele Mistò, the Biltmore Hotel Country Club of Coral Gables, Miami hosted the presentation of the upcoming schedule of the most beautiful race in the world: the Warm UP USA in autumn (from October 22 to 27, 2024), and the Experience Florida next winter (from February 22 to 25, 2025).
The 1000 Miglia, also known as the Red Arrow, is considered worldwide an Italian excellence at the international level and celebrates the history of the Race, which has fascinated the world for almost a century since 1927. This legacy of audacious and pioneering figures is in the very same DNA of the 1000 Miglia, which today brings the spirit of the Race beyond Italian borders, offering a winning mix of tradition, innovation, elegance, beautiful landscapes, and lifestyle.
Now in its fifth edition, the 1000 Miglia Warm UP USA event, scheduled to take place from October 22 to 27 and based in Middleburg, Virginia, will offer a limited number of crews the chance to prepare effectively to tackle the classic regularity trials, as well as a series of resources indispensable for getting the most from the sporting aspect of the Race, which takes place in Italy. With 5-star hospitality provided by the Salamander Resort & Spa, the event will cover the hills and vineyards of Virginia and West Virginia, the Congressional Country Club in Maryland, the Summit Point circuit, the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the Shenandoah National Park, before entering Italian soil at the Italian Embassy in the centre of Washington D.C.
Two car classes will be accepted for the event: 1000 Miglia Era (vehicles built between 1927 and 1957) and Post 1000 Miglia Era (from 1958 to the present). The top two finishers in each category will receive the 8 guarantees of acceptance for the 1000 Miglia 2025, in accordance with the entry regulations.
On February 22, 2025, Miami will witness the start of the first edition of the 1000 Miglia Experience Florida, the format for official 1000 Miglia style events that allows Red Arrow enthusiasts to learn and find out more about the rules of the Race, savoring the atmosphere in exclusive settings and custom formats.
Embodying a number of founding values of the 1000 Miglia, such as innovation and technological development, the 1000 Miglia Experience offers the chance for even modern vehicles to race alongside more prestigious classic cars, in accordance with the Race guidelines and with top-level services.
“I am very pleased to confirm and bring the presence of 1000 Miglia to the United States,” said Alberto Piantoni, CEO of 1000 Miglia Srl. “Growing this brand in the U.S. is a source of pride and a milestone for this historic Race. The Red Arrow today globally represents the history of the 1000 Miglia which, over the course of almost one hundred years since the first edition, has gone through multiple historical phases, has become the bearer of technological and infrastructural development, and has contributed to bringing Italy together after the difficult period of World War II. Today we are carrying on this historic tradition thanks to the far-sighted and courageous Race pioneers, but also adding our own vision and values by bringing the spirit of the Race beyond the Italian borders. I am sure that the union of our worlds and our cultures will be a great opportunity to promote not only this Race and the incredible cars participating, but also the Italian lifestyle. 1000 Miglia Warm UP USA is now a consolidated event, currently in its fifth edition, which rotates in the Washington DC area; today we announce the first edition of 1000 Miglia Experience USA Florida which, we hope, will make you appreciate the beauty of these territories from the privileged point of view of the seat of a historic, iconic, or hypercar. Start the engines, we are ready to go.”
After setting out from the Magic City, the route will make its way along the roads that run through the Everglades National Park and the Big Cypress National Preserve to Naples, before heading north through Sanibel Island, Fort Myers, Venice, Sarasota, St. Petersburg, and Tampa, and continuing through Brooksville, Orlando, and Cape Canaveral. Continuing south towards West Palm Beach, along the iconic A1A, the finishing line in Miami is set to be a striking experience, with one of the most emblematic spots in the city welcoming finishers.
The car classes accepted have been confirmed as 1000 Miglia Era (vehicles built between 1927 and 1957) and Post 1000 Miglia Era (from 1958 to the present). Guarantees of acceptance to the 1000 Miglia 2026 will be awarded to the winners of each category, as per the entry regulations.
The unique charm of the 1000 Miglia Race has always attracted leading figures from the world of sport, industry, and entertainment, for whom taking part in the Red Arrow is a matter of pride.
However, the hallmark and the success of the 1000 Miglia have always been represented above all by the enthusiasm of the spectators who wait to welcome the cars in the Race as they pass by. It is to be hoped that aficionados in the USA will also be able to note and appreciate the beauty of the cars in the Race, as well as the history and the spirit of the 1000 Miglia that are the founding values of all the activities organized under the banner of the Red Arrow.
