Auburn, Indiana – Worldwide Auctioneers concluded another sale at its home in Auburn, Indiana, with a diverse offering of iconic European sportscars, pioneering electric vehicles, magnificent pre-war automobiles, muscle cars, American classics and vintage trucks crossing the block over the two-day Enthusiast Auction. Pre-war Packards were well-represented, with high sales going to a rare, multiple award-winning 1934 Packard Twelve 1107 Coupe Roadster that brought $318,500, and a beautifully restored 1940 Packard Darrin Custom Super Eight 180 Convertible Sedan that sold for $263,200. An impeccably documented 1986 De Tomaso Pantera GT5-S found a new home for $218,400, the first of just three GT5-S models delivered new to Carroll Shelby, duly authenticated by his signature and historic documentation. Significantly more far out there and offered with a mere 360 delivery miles was the 2024 Tesla Cybertruck AWD Foundation Series consigned to this year’s sale, one of the most futuristic and technologically advanced vehicles ever produced. It sold for an impressive $173,600, substantially more than its list price new.
The Enthusiast Auction was staged on April 26th and 27th at Worldwide’s Auburn, Indiana headquarters, the culmination of Enthusiast Car Week, an event that also included the fourth annual Enthusiast Tour, a quintessentially Midwestern classic driving tour that ran from the 23rd -26th April. Stops included exclusive access to the “Blacksnakes” 122nd Fighter Wing F-16 Squadron and a breakfast tour of the celebrated Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum, as well as visits to usually inaccessible private collections and other distinctive local attractions.
Next stop for the Worldwide team is the company’s flagship fall event, the annual Auburn Auction and Show, a longstanding Labor Day tradition that is now in its 54th year. The event is scheduled to run from August 29th-31st, again on Worldwide’s expansive Auburn campus. Enthusiasts can look forward to an outstanding selection of world-class motorcars offered over three days, as well as an exciting selection of some of the best memorabilia to be found. Visitors will also enjoy a curated marketplace of on-site automotive lifestyle vendors, car corral and swap meet, and a host of outstanding participant and spectator events during the celebrated and long-running Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival, staged that same week. Consignments of cars and collections are invited and can be discussed with a Worldwide specialist at +1.260.925.6789 or sales@worldwideauctioneers.com.
