Barrett-Jackson

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Barrett-Jackson will offer the impressive Prestige Collection, featuring an array of 17 collectible vehicles, during this year’s Palm Beach Auction held at the South Florida Fairgrounds, April 18-20. Among the stars of the Prestige Collection is an Alpine White 1970 Plymouth Superbird powered by the original V8 engine and featuring the original body, VIN Tag, Fender Tag and Build Sheet.

From a custom 1930 Ford Model A to an Italian 1974 De Tomaso Pantera GTS, the Prestige Collection offers a diverse selection of vehicles. The collection also includes several impressive and original American muscle cars like a 1969 Pontiac GTO Jude RAM Air IV and a 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 429 CJ, both powered by their original factory engines.

Among the offerings is “The InNOVAtor,” a custom 1967 Chevrolet Nova that has no shortage of custom features. It is powered by a Chevrolet Performance LSX 700-horsepower engine paired to a TREMEC T56 Magnum 6-speed manual transmission. Painted in Glacier White, it has custom hood-joined extended rockers, reprofiled fenders, custom front and rear fascias, and futuristic circuit board aesthetics. The interior features a completely custom, one-off interior with Sparco bucket seats in a full cage with fiber-optic lighting, GPS navigation and a full array of custom gauges.

Known as the “Hemicudzter,” an award-winning custom 1970 Plymouth ’Cuda in the collection underwent a no-expense-spared frame-off rotisserie restoration. It is powered by a Stanton 6.1-liter HEMI engine backed by a Keisler/TREMEC TKO 5-speed transmission with a hydraulic clutch. The black and silver exterior comes with a custom-fabricated, precision-fit, removable roadster hardtop, as well as all-new glass flush-mounted with modern rubber, front and rear bumpers integrated into the body, custom grille, chin spoiler and rocker extensions, LED headlight and tail lights. The custom interior includes a handmade dash, smoothed door panels, headliner and Corbeau bucket seats.

The exceptional 1974 De Tomaso Pantera GTS, the only import vehicle in the Prestige Collection, is one of 138 GTS cars built in this model year. It is finished in Brilliant Silver with a GTS blacked-out hood and engine cover, black leather interior, radio delete and larger custom billet wheels resembling the original design. The 351ci Cleveland engine remains in stock condition, except for an improved cold-air intake and exhaust system, and it is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

The Prestige Collection was carefully curated over time and features many desirable collectibles set to cross the auction block in Palm Beach. It has several beautiful examples of Ford and Shelby builds, like the 1999 Shelby Series 1, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and a well-documented 1969 Ford Shelby Mustang GT500. Like the entire Palm Beach auction docket, the Prestige Collection offers something for every type of collector.
